Thank you for using Browser Tamagotchi. This Privacy Policy explains how the extension handles your data. The short version: we collect nothing.

1. Data Collection

Browser Tamagotchi does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The extension has no backend server, no database, and no analytics service. Your data never leaves your device.

2. Local Storage

The extension stores the following information locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:

• Pet state (hunger, happiness, energy, level, XP, age)
• Pet name chosen by the user
• UI preferences (color theme, sound toggle)
• List of websites where the pet is hidden
• Game best score

This data is stored exclusively in your browser and is never sent to any external server or third party. It can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.

3. Permissions

The extension requests the following browser permissions:

• storage — to save pet state and preferences locally on your device
• alarms — to update pet stats periodically even when the popup is closed
• tabs — to send real-time updates across open tabs and to support the "hide on this site" feature
• host permissions (all URLs) — to display the pet on every webpage you visit

None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit any data.

4. Third-Party Services

Browser Tamagotchi does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No external scripts or APIs are loaded at runtime.

5. Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, there is no risk of collecting children's personal information.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes in the future, the updated version will be published at this URL. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
